This weekend was very eventful. Rylee's 6th grade football team was in a championship football game, for being undefeated thus far. Going into the game I told Rylee that I was excited for him, and proud of him. The team won the championship against Eastside from St. Joseph, 13-0. The team won bragging rights and a large trophy. Here is a picture of the team sharing their victory.
After the game I told Rylee I was proud of him. But I also told him I was not just proud of him for winning (and catching the extra point after the team scored a touchdown). I am proud of Rylee for who he is. A boy who always strives to do his best, that shows integrity in everything he does. He is calm, caring, and always strives to do the best in every aspect in his life. He is a straight A student, who is also in GEMS (gifted program). He has managed both school, football, and church in his busy life. I don't know how he does it, but I do know he is a boy of integrity, and for that I am very proud of him! I try to share with him and the other two kids, it's not what we do for ourselves in this life, it's what we do for others, and how we can show the love of Christ in our lives to everyone we meet, and are around.

Anyone else have issues with crazy numbers?
I don't know why but in the last two weeks I have been receiving calls from very odd phone numbers. One was from Salt Lake City, UT, one from El Paso, TX. Another that called today was showing up Unknown. Then last week I had a number show up 0000000. I have never seen that before! I don't know if my phone number is on a spam list or what. A lot of the times the person would call while I was at work so I wouldn't be able to answer. Who ever it was would not leave a message. When they call in the evenings, I would answer and it would be followed by a long pause and then someone asking for me by name. Always they had a foreign accent. Once it was an Indian accent, once Australian, and once an Asian accent. All asking odd and various things. I have told all of them to take me off their list, but the next day I get another odd phone call. The one today told me that I was to receive medical compensation. Then asked if I have ever used the IUD Mirena. What the heck, like I would tell a complete stranger that information. I wonder if I'm the only one getting these strange calls. I'm hoping they will stop!

Changes, Changes
This year has been a whirlwind of changes for me. It all started with the most unfortunate change--losing my only brother Matt. His death has left a hole in my heart, that I don't think will ever mend. My brother passed away from this life on May 3, 2013. He texted me the night before to talk, and unfortunately I didn't talk to him. That would have been the last time I spoke with him. Matt was the type of person that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. If I had one word of advice from experiencing this loss, it is never take anyone you love for granted. We never know how long they will be here on this earth. Enjoy the time you have with your family and friends, because life's too short to hold a grudge. Here is the most recent picture I have of him with Rylee. This was taken November 2012.
Another big change for me this year was sending my children off to school. Rylee is in sixth grade this year. This has been a huge adjustment for me. I am not ready for him to be in middle school, but I am trying to embrace it. I wish he was still this age. Then our baby Adryan turned six and started Kindergarten! I wish she was still little, like this.
I was so used to having Adryan home with me most days and now she is at school five days a week. This mom must adjust. She does love school though, which helps a lot. She has a wonderful teacher too, Ms. Lawrence has been the best kindergarten teacher for Adryan. She is learning so much, and starting to read!
Another big adjustment has been my job. Due to cuts at my current job, I was planning on subbing the rest of the school year. God opened a door to a new opportunity, and I decided to pursue it. I am still working my other three jobs, but now work at Evan's Pediatric three days a week. I am working in the office to assist two wonderful ladies with checking in patients, making appointments, and other assisting duties. I am loving it! Although I am not good with change, God is working in my life, and helping me through the good and bad. Here is my desk. :) Here is the office where my new job is. I love it!!

School Pictures!
Well today the boys came home with their school pictures. Here is Seth's 2nd grade photo.
I thought it turned out pretty good. I noticed him and Adryan's smile look similar this year. People always think they look alike, I don't notice it, but in these school pictures I do.
Then we also got Rylee's school picture. Rylee is in a "too cool" to smile stage. As you can see in the picture, this is not his natural smile. I guess you're too cool to smile in sixth grade.
He is wearing his football jersey in this picture.

Oh my gosh it's been two years since I posted in this blog! Time has really gotten away! Speaking of time getting away, here are two of my favorite people. Our daughter Adryan is in Kindergarten this year! My how time flies. Rylee our oldest started middle school this year which was a huge adjustment for Mom. I think he's handling it fine, but I had a hard time with it. He is in sixth grade this year and he's playing on the 6th grade football team. Him and his team are doing very well. They have won all their games except for one in the Savannah tournament. Seth is in second grade this year. It's hard to believe he has already been in school for 2+ years! He is all playing football this fall, flag football. Once we get his pictures back I will post his too!
All the kids are doing really good in school. This year has been a year of lots of changes. The kids are adapting well

Adryan's Birthday
This past week was Adryan's birthday. My baby turned four years old. Like many parents I wonder, where did the time go? Four years ago I was rushing to the hospital (Ryan driving of course) at 7:30 pm to ensure we made it time. With Seth coming with only an hour and forty three minutes of labor, we wanted to make sure Adryan was delivered at the hospital. We made it in time, with only a four hour labor she barely made it on August 9, 2007 sharing her Aunt Tara's birthday. She was born at 11:23 pm, and was 7 lbs. 8 oz. and very alert. Although I miss her infant years, I am enjoying her preschool years as well. Now she spends her days playing with Barbie Dolls, and princess toys. If we didn't have her I wouldn't get to enjoy all the "girly" perks of having a daughter. She has blessed our lives in many ways. Now she's going to preschool this fall. Tears, but I know she will enjoy the time learning and meeting new friends.

Kids and Chores
Ok the boys were complaining today that they were bored and so I put them to work. A little manual labor never hurt anyone. Plus I was thinking they need to learn how to sort laundry and fold before heading off to college (I know it's a long ways away, but still). What are your thoughts on kids and chores? Is nine years old and five years old too young to start asking for a little help around the house? Rylee sorted by color instead of person which I thought was interesting. Seth folded maybe two things and then he gave up. He was not into the laundry at all. He is not good about trying new things though, so I kind of expected his reaction. Adyran even helped me put some of her clothing away. Anyone have an ideas on what chores are appropriate for what ages? Rylee has done chores in the past, but currently doesn't have any specific chores. I remember learning how to use the washing machine and dryer in fifth grade. He is going into fourth grade. Let me know your thoughts.
