This weekend was very eventful. Rylee's 6th grade football team was in a championship football game, for being undefeated thus far. Going into the game I told Rylee that I was excited for him, and proud of him. The team won the championship against Eastside from St. Joseph, 13-0. The team won bragging rights and a large trophy. Here is a picture of the team sharing their victory.
After the game I told Rylee I was proud of him. But I also told him I was not just proud of him for winning (and catching the extra point after the team scored a touchdown). I am proud of Rylee for who he is. A boy who always strives to do his best, that shows integrity in everything he does. He is calm, caring, and always strives to do the best in every aspect in his life. He is a straight A student, who is also in GEMS (gifted program). He has managed both school, football, and church in his busy life. I don't know how he does it, but I do know he is a boy of integrity, and for that I am very proud of him! I try to share with him and the other two kids, it's not what we do for ourselves in this life, it's what we do for others, and how we can show the love of Christ in our lives to everyone we meet, and are around.
